Product description
Copper supplement for horses.
Copper+ is formulated to best balance the feed state in the event of a copper deficiency or an excess of iron. The ratio between Fe:Cu should be between 3-5 in the calculated feed state.
The importance of copper for horses
Copper promotes the body's absorption of iron and is needed for the body's formation of hemoglobin (red blood cells). Copper is also necessary for the enzymes involved in the formation of elastin, collagen and melanin. Substances that give the skin its protective and elastic properties.
Copper is needed for bone formation, for the structure of joint surfaces, the immune system and the pigmentation of fur.
Lack of copper in the horse
There are indications that there is a connection between copper deficiency and the occurrence of loose bone pieces, especially in younger horses. In the case of anemia, copper deficiency is often an underlying cause, and a sign of copper deficiency is that the color of the coat fades. If there is a lack of copper and the iron/copper ratio needs to be balanced.
